Position Summary

All projects and statements of work require skilled human resources to successfully accomplish goals. As a Resource Manager you responsible for assigning the right people to the right projects at the right time. You will manage employees currently in the workplace and assist in determining hiring needs based on each project’s requirements.

Reporting Lines

  • Reports to the SAP Operations Lead

  • Manages permanent employees and contractors from an administrative perspective

Key Accountabilities


  • Complete overview of all employees’ qualifications, skills, experience.

  • Maintain an inventory of core skills and track team members’ skills by proficiency, frequency, and context of use

  • Allocation of the right people to projects at the right time

  • Assist in employee performance evaluation

  • Develop effective working relationships with staff

  • Work with Business managers to support employee career development plans

  • Ensure new hires are equipped to make an impact on their projects by providing project-specific guidance, familiarisation and training

Workforce Planning

  • Provide tactical workforce planning advice to key stakeholders

  • Maintain team utilisation targets and effectively pool and utilise resources from across the national pool

  • Oversee the direction, fulfilment, and reporting of day-to-day staffing requests with support from stakeholders

  • Manage team utilisation

  • Report on utilisation trends and forecasts

  • Identify potential resourcing conflicts and provide solutions

Systems & Finance

  • Ensure Workforce Management systems are maintained and up to date

  • Set up, allocate and monitor WBS codes on Corporate SAP system

  • Approval of timesheets for permanent and contract employees

  • Action end of month and invoice procedures


  • Regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure resourcing requirements are being met

  • Manage various stakeholder conflicting resource requirements

Internal Contacts: Permanent employees and contractors. Project Managers, BP Leads, Sales and Account Managers, Finance, HR Business Partner, Administration team

External Contacts: Clients

Key Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication across different levels of the organisation

  • Ability to work with stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage conflicting requirements

  • Ability to problem solve to address issues, conflicting requirements

  • Proven ability to multitask as on a day to day level the resource manager will need to juggle various roles, shifting requirements and responsibilities

  • High level of IT capability in the Microsoft, Google suite of products and ability to pick up internal systems with ease

  • Effective management, coordination, analysis skills

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in Resource Planning, management techniques and tools

  • Knowledge of SAP HR/PY & SuccessFactors would be highly desirable
